Lightbox 2.0 Free version is very popular and has been called more powerful than Picasa.  But, it is out of date.

It's been my pleasure to give away a free version, and it's been great for it to get noticed.  My original intention was to give away a powerful, free image editor, and I'm glad to have succeeded.

  The Goal of Lightbox Free 3.0

The goal for Lightbox Free 3.0 is a powerful free editor with as much (and more) power as Adobe Elements, but is noticeably faster and has more advanced functionality, especially in the area of auto balancing, easier UI interface, and raw speed.

The pieces already exist.  It just needs to be put together.

The idea is to update Lightbox 2.0 into a more current version with the following features:
  • Same Core, lightning-fast, SSE/MMX engine as Sagelight Editor
  • Current RAW file Support
  • Many More functions, including masking, noise reduction, state-of-the-art auto balancing technology, real-time histogram support
  • Direct integration into Flickr and other online services
  • Batch file operations
  • ICC Support
  • Much More!
