Full Notes
1. Soft Focus is back, new and improved. Apparently, I broke the Soft Focus function a while back. I figured out what happened there (finally.. it turned out to be a good ol' fashioned uninitialized variable).
I ended up re-writing it to be much more useful and expansive. Now there are two different modes. The default mode is more aggressive than the original soft focus, but you can go back to the original by selecting the 'softer/traditional button.
The new soft focus includes a number of presets to get you started with various types of soft focus settings, and you can change the controls accordingly.
Also included are brightness, contrast, sharpness, and saturation controls.
Here's an example:
Important Note: Access the Soft Focus function from the More Functions->Soft Glow / Soft Focus menu item. Do not use the 'Filters and Effects' menu tab from the Quick Edit mode -- this mode is deprecated, and the soft focus there will be the older version (though it has been fixed).
Here is the help section on the Soft Focus: http://www.sagelight...ABQAcOJAAHvtIo=
This also includes a Controls Quick Reference Chart which describes all of the controls in details (you can also use the tooltips while in the Soft Focus function, though they are a little more concise).
2. Reticle Controls in Tone Blender and Vignette
The reticle controls (i.e. the ring on the screen where you can size it, shape it, and use it as circular, rectangular, or gradient types) worked well for the Bokeh, and I have moved it into the Tone Blender and Vignette.
note: As with the Soft Focus, make sure to access the Vignette function from the More Functions->Soft Glow / Soft Focus menu item.
This is what the Vignette Function now looks like. Now, you can just grab the reticle and and move it, shape it, and size it, instead of using the sliders on the screen.
The Tone Blender now works in a similar way for the vignette controls.
3. Redesigned the Tone Blender Controls. The Tone Blender was a little cluttered, and the vignette controls were a little obscure. Now there are two tabs: one for the main set of controls, and another for the vignette controls.
When you size the reticle, the vignette will automatically activate, and you can deselect 'enable vignette' to turn it off easily.
