Edge Restoration Strength
This determines how strongly the edges will be restored. Smaller values restore edges blended with the smoothed image. Larger values show more and more of the original image.
|
Detail/Edge Smoothness
This determine how smoothly the details will be restored. Lower values restore more noisy details, and higher values restore only larger details. Higher values work better with noisier image.
|
Edge Sensitivity
This determines how sensitive Sagelight is to details and edges. Higher values include less defined details, where lower values tend to only include well-defined edges.
This is different than the Detail/Edge smoothness slider, but works with it.
note: Smaller values can sometimes cause an artificial look, especially with noisy images. This is because this causes Sagelight to only restore well-defined edges, which can make the image look unreal.

Smooth Edges
This options will smooth both the edges and how Sagelight sees the edges (i.e. use the Show Edges button to see the difference). This works well for very noisy images or for images where you want to restore only well-defined or large details.
This option also smoothes the edges in the image itself. This is because the image is considered very noisy and restore the original detail would look artificial. This option causes the edge/detail restoration to be a noised-reduced version of the edges themselves, which can result in a more natural appearance.
note: When you first click this option, move the Detail Smoothness slider to a lower value. Use the Show Edges button to see a graphic detail of the differences between modes and slider values.

Include Color Channels
When checked, colors are also included in the edge restoration. This can help with maintaining bright colors that have been noise-reduced.
When unchecked, colors are not included. This can be helpful in not re-introducing color noise when the Color Noise Slider is active.
|
Clip Small Details
When checked, this will cause Sagelight to not include very small details that might be image noise. Use the Show Edges option to see the difference.
|
Show Edges
When checked, this will show how Sagelight sees the edges in your images, and will change as you make changes to the edge controls. This is very useful in defining and isolating edges in your image.
note: When the Edge Restoration Strength Slider is moved, the Show Edges option will be cancelled and the main image will re-appear.

Close Window
Pressing this button will close the Edge Controls Window. If the Show Edges option on, this will be turned off, as well.
You can also use the "Open Edge Window Controls" button in the main Noise Reduction controls panel to close this window.
